I Just Realised Something!
Spring is 'Springing'!
The pops of spring colours are bursting through and l couldn't be more excited!
Vases full of daffodils and the garden slowly springing into life. My favourite time of year, when we can, hopefully, very soon, pack the winter coats and boots away. (I always fall for the 'false spring' days and go to early with this but l will not give in once the woolies are packed away'!)
I adore pops of colour to lift the mood and small pops of colour start to creep back into my wardrobe as l transition into my spring dresses and clothes. It will come as no surprise that one of the first way that l do this, is from the shoes up! Wearing my espadrilles with jeans is one of the first ways l start to transition my wardrobe, throwing caution to the wind and taking the socks off once again!
As l have been preparing for spring/summer ahead l have been checking stock levels. We are not about mass production or mass restocks. My designs are made exclusively for Sole of Summer in small production runs. What l hadn't stopped to think about until recently was what that actually means for the wearer. In a nutshell - you have limited edition designed shoes, made in small limited quantity. Isn't that wonderful? Less awkward moments where you realise you're wearing the same outfit as another guest at the wedding and lots more 'ooohhh where did you get those shoes from?' moments instead!
It's what makes shopping from a small business so wonderfully special, the cherry on top! Your shoes are made with consideration, with thought to the production process, limited production, which means, you get to wear footwear that only a limited number of other people have. Once they're gone, they're gone! The plan is to create new colourful designs rather than restocking the same designs. (Having seen the warehouse full of ribbons, that my ribbon supplier has, the opportunities and variations are endless!) So if you have you're eye on a pair for a sunny occasion coming up, don't wait too long, they're all limited editions!
