Our espadrilles need a teeny bit of TLC and much prefer sunshine to rain. Please, please, please don’t wear them in the rain (or into the sea!) Jute, as wonderful and natural as it is, will last but not if it gets soaked.
With that in mind, please do check the weather forecast before you wear your espadrilles. Any chance of a downpour the day of your friends wedding pop your shoes in their Sole of Summer dust bag, chuck on your wellies to get to the church and hot foot it to the reception to slip on your espadrilles, glass of champers in your hand and you’ll be all set to dance the night away in comfort.
With a little care (and watching the weather report) your espadrilles will last summer after summer, from Cheltenham to Capri and all your travels and adventures in between.
Cleaning your espadrilles with care
Any small marks, wipe off with a clean lint free cloth and a dab of water or for suede please delicately use a suede brush.
Proper drying technique for longevity
If the worst happens and you get caught in a light shower, stuff the shoes with ink free white paper or paper towels and air dry.
Storage tips to maintain shape and quality
Store them sole down and ideally stuffed with tissue paper to maintain their shape. Avoid crushing or folding them to maintain their shape.
